OKAY, FRIENDS LIST, SHOW OF HANDS.

How many of you enjoy researching something that's just a little bit strange, and what is it?

I want to know because, I'm gonna be honest with you, I know way more than I should about the following: Teacher-Student, Doctor-Patient and Lawyer-Client Codes of Conduct, the medical condition of Delirium, Orchestras and for light reading I enjoy researching military ranks and duties.

I ask because I spent the last hour and a half reading this: ABA Rules of Professional Conduct ...and I enjoyed it. Like...the way I enjoy reading a comic book. Ahhh yyyeeeaaahhhokay maybe I'm the only one

Maybe it's a little weird, but I like researching things in general. I love wikipedia. I love to pick any strange, obscure thing and learn every thing I can about it.

For example, I was curious once. I wanted to know the similarities of watermelons and cucumbers, and papaya and avocado. Something about their flavours and consistencies made me wonder if they were related. And they were! Now why the hell should I know that, or want to know that, or be fascinated by it? I also wonder how we got something like a poodle or a chihuahua from wolves. Wolf = chihuahua? I'd like to know the whole genetic hybrid process it took to get a chihuahua from the genetic lines of a wolf. And I wonder which big cats did our domestic cats descend from?

So in short - I like to research any random question that pops into my head at any point during the day.

Remind me to call you if I ever become a professor. You can tell me what I can and can't do to my students. (oh don't get me wrong - I mean in a torturing my students sort of way, not in a perverted Mrs. Robinson sort of way.) Delerium sounds interesting too.

Ohh I'd like to know that myself! If you ever find an answer to how we got a chihuahua out of a wolf? I also wonder about cats 'cause they're soooo luvabblleeee-- X3 X3 X3

I heard that when you know something new, a certain hormone is released in your brain and it creates pleasure.

so yeah, I'M RAISING MY HAND! I love researching about obscure things I don't need to know, too!

Yeah.... I'm right there with you^^. I'm a little too out of it to pin something down though. I will say that everytime I hear about an illness that I don't know anything about, I go and try to research it alot. I feel like a hypocondriac for it, but oh well.

Eeeeeeeeeellll~~~~ I'm okay now, I don't really feel that "Am I going to die feeling?" feeling much anymore. It's funny to think, but the symptom "malaise" comes up whenever I search bronchitis. It seems weird that they'd mention it, since I mean, doesn't everyone kind of get that way when they aren't well? The medicines are working pretty well, but one of them is a disgusting powder that I'm supposed to pour into my mouth and chase with water, but it's so sick I refuse to take it. The medicine for my cough makes me really dizzy and sleepy though. It's horrible, if I'm sitting down trying to concentrate on something, I just start unfocusing and my head spins and I find myself waking up a second later. I wouldn't say it makes me pass out, but it does really disorient and confuse me. I really don't like it =/.
Harry also got sick, and since he had the same symptoms we assumed it was the same thing. However, last night he had a very high fever, it was very palpable. This morning, he rolled over and was shivering hard, I woke up and realized his fever had never broken during the night and that he was still in the middle of it. For example, even his lips felt like he had just drunken boiling water. So I made him go to the doctor this morning too. He was also molested by the nurses. He was unbuttoning his shirt for them when they just quickly yanked it out of his pants and up his chest. lolz, for medical molestation. When he came out of the examining room he looked soooo raped, his shirt half un-buttoned and untucked and his tie loose and crooked. It made me laugh. He doesn't have what I do at all though. I have a cold and bronchitis, while he has type A influenza. Yaaay, we're going to kill everyone in Tokyo between the two of us. His roommates are also sick with a cough now, and we're really curious as to which one gave them what^^. lolz sik.

the medical condition of Delirium
Right there with you. Along with a number of other odd things, such as function and organization of specialized tissue cells, history and psychological diagnoses of famous serial killers... whatever strikes my fancy at a given moment. Fairly amusingly, I don't remember most of it once I get done.

Yeah, I love researching random things too. :)

Well, sorry to bother, I found your livejournal while browsing your site about Fujimi Orchestra, Music of the Heart. Basically, I'm trying to buy some old yaoi/BL anime on tape, and I can't find Fujimi Orchestra's original tape anywhere. I'm part of a brazilian fansub group and we ended up fansubing and releasing Fujimi Orchestra in portuguese using the unsubtitled video available in your site - btw, thanks a lot for making it available. :) But I really would like to find the tape so I could make a digital rip with the video's size around 640 x 480 pixels.

If you feel like helping me and indicate me where to find the original tape, I'd be really glad. Sorry to come begging like this, but you seem to know a lot about Fujimi, so I thought that asking you wouldn't hurt. ^^'

not without a fight

No totally, invade all you want. ^__^ I love your LJ name, by the way. AnK is love.

Let's see...as for a copy of the original tape, I'm afraid that the only place I was able to find it myself was in a used anime goods shop in Tokyo, Mandarake. Occasionally you can get lucky and find it up for auction on YahooJapan, but you'll also have to find someone who will ship internationally.

Here's the link that I usually browse through, on YahooJapan Auctions...

http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/search?p=%c9%d9%bb%ce%b8%ab%c6%f3%c3%fa%cc%dc%b8%f2%b6%c1%b3%da%c3%c4&f=0x2&alocale=0jp&mode=1&auccat=0

...but I don't see any copies up for auction at the moment, unfortunately.

I wish I could give you more information on it, really...I always love to help out fellow Fujimi lovers, but unfortunately the tape is out of print so it's really hard to locate it. =/ If I ever find another one I'll be sure to alert you though.

Yeah, I'm a long time fan of AnK. :D

Thanks a lot for answering! *o* Yeah, I've been trying to search on Yahoo Auctions Japan, but I couldn't find Fujimi's tape yet, I don't even know how is it's cover. ^^' But I'll keep searching. :) And I'm trying out Shopping Mall Japan to purchase things from Yahoo Auctions, so hopefully their service will solve the international shipment issue. ^^

Well, what I'd really like to have is a good raw/unsubtitled video of Fujimi to re-release my group's portuguese fansub. So far, it seems the best way to do this is to obtain the original tape and rip it myself. But, if you'd feel like it, and would be willing to share with me, and if you still have the resources, it would be very very nice if you could rip your tape in a bigger screen resolution. Of course I would credit you in the release. :)

Erm, hello again, guess what, just found a Fujimi tape for sale in Yahoo Auctions Japan for 3000 yen. It seems in used condition, and I sure would prefer if it was cheaper, but if you don't mind I'd like to ask what you think. Should I be patient and wait for another cheaper auction in the future or is this as cheap as it can get? If you wanna take a look, the auction is here:

Sorry for bothering so much. ^^'''

fujimi highland

No bother, no bother. ^^

I think it's probably a good idea. I think I got mine for 4500 yen. As long as the video doesn't have any skips or anything it's probably not likely to be found for much cheaper. =x

Well actually, looking at the description of it it might not be a good idea. I think the price is good but that sounds kindof dubious... =/ I'm not sure. ;-;

Since no one else is auctioning on it it may not be a good idea. Kindof scary. =x I might wait...

I know this is strange and random, but I'll just do it to make you feel a little better about yourself (even though I'm not on your friends list). I like researching 3 things off and on:

1) theme park accidents (sites like rideaccidents.com)
2) anything defunct, especially amusement parks (defunctparks.com)
3) parasites and especially odd diseases (there are MANY sites for that kind of thing)

Yes, I like pretty much anything grotesque and/or creepy. I hope you feel more normal now!

Ooooo defunct places are AWESOME. If I find one that I can gain access to I like to wander around and take pictures 'cause I agree, they're wonderfully creepy!

Your icon is seriously Robbie's twin. I'm...sortof jealous actually. XD *luvv*

Yay, someone else who knows Robbie! It's scary how many Silent Hill "fans" you can weed out by mentioning him. "Oh, well, I didn't really get into 3 much..." Yeah, sure. But anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes that kind of stuff. For some reason I've been on a roller coaster kick lately, though.
